Brief History
The Department of Hindi was established in pre-independence under the University of Calcutta, initially it was started as a General Department. The Department of Hindi are thought MIL (Modern Indian Language) for three years degree course under UG level B.A., B.SC., B.COM., both Honours & General. The new syllabus of choice based credit system (CBCS-UGC) introduced by University of Calcutta has opened three new papers AECC1 (SEMESTER-1), LCC2 (I) (SEMESTER-4), & LCC2(II) SEMESTER-6 which enhanced the scope for great opportunity to learn Hindi Language of the students.
Distinctiveness
The objective of AECC1, LCC2(I) & LCC2 (II) (HINDI) papers is communication through which students can express their feelings in front of others.

- The Department of Hindi deals B.A., B.SC., B,COM. both Honours & General students.
- All groups of Semester -1 students are studying AECC-1 Paper with satisfactory percentage.
- Poor performance students are taught special classes.
