About the Committee

The Student Welfare and Discipline Sub-committee endeavors to support the students’ educational process and aid them in enhancing their academic as well as personal abilities. The objective of this committee is implementation of strategies designed to promote and encourage good student behavior. It reviews the Institution’s rules for student behavior and prescribes practices in relation to maintaining discipline within the college premises. This sub-committee monitors Student and Staff Code of conduct within the institution. It targets at avoiding the hindrances that may come in the path of the students’ learning process so that they can succeed professionally at national and international levels. This committee ceaselessly works to facilitate a positive academic environment for the students and help them to proceed in their career with minimal obstruction. To sum up, this committee is responsible for the well-being and holistic development of the students.

Objectives

  • Maintaining a strong student-teacher relationship by regular mentor mentee interaction.
  • Ensuring the implementation of interdisciplinary activities among students.
  • Encouraging Students’ Seminar/webinar
  • Examining various measures taken for the welfare of employees/ students and recommending further improvements, if required
  • Keeping track of various scholarships/ freeships provided to the students
  • Monitoring the health and hygiene of the campus through the concerned subcommittee
  • Monitoring the feedback of students regarding different areas of curriculum and resolving the issues with no or little efforts from the students.
  • Monitoring the PTMS conducted by the Departments.
  • Encouraging the Students to participate in NSS and NCC activities
  • Maintaining First aid facilities for the students as well as the staff
  • Maintaining strict student discipline.
  • Encouraging continuous cultural activities
  • Students involved in any kind of ragging /violence would be punished.
  • Loitering in corridors is prohibited
  • Actions to be taken against any kind of misbehavior.
  • Segregation of biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste.
  • Spread awareness about various schemes, plans, courses and programmes started for the welfare/development of students (like medical facilities and internal complaints committee
  • Act as an interface between students and administration, taking suggestions of students through drop box in college and on college website (regarding students welfare)
  • Develop strong student-teacher relationship bond by implementation of mentor- mentee programme and help the students with psychological issues to achieve reconciliation with the self and others (consulting college counselors)

Hygiene:
✓ General hygiene in the campus
✓ Canteen and food safety
✓ Building maintenance
✓ Uncontaminated drinking water

At college level:
➢ To organize programmes to make students job ready, strengthen the placement cell and make them aware of existing placement cells activities, motivate students to register and participate in large numbers especially in Non-Commerce departments
➢ To organize special meetings with the parents of those students whose fail to attend classes and show low performance in the class
➢ Coordination with staff council committee for welfare of students
➢ To draw notice of the college authorities towards any kind of sphere related to student welfare and development and plan and execute any programme for that

At student level:
➢ Encourage students to participate in Personality Development Classes
